Armenia unveils biggest chocolate bar

Belgium and Switzerland are popular and famous centers for chocolate-making. However, the world record of the biggest chocolate bar belongs to Armenia, bordered by Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and Georgia. The previous record was set by an Italian confectionery company in 2007. That chocolate bar was reported to weigh 3,587 kilogram.

 

The world’s biggest chocolate bar was produced by the Grand Candy factory to mark the tenth anniversary of the company, which is also a memorable event to citizens in Armenia. Made of natural ingredients including 75% cocoa beans from Ghana and other additives, the bar measures 5.69 m long, 2.7 m wide and 25 cm thick.

The Guinness Book of World Records certified the4,410-kilogram chocolate bar on September 11th, 2010. The factory owner Karen Vardanyan was presented with an official certificate by Guinness World Record\’s representative Elizabeth Smith. After the event, factory workers chopped small pieces of chocolate for people to taste.

 

It’s a good news for chocolate lovers that the world’s biggest dark chocolate bar will be divided up and handed out to members of the public at Yerevan\’s main square on October 16th, 2010. Therefore, if you wish to admire and taste free this chocolate bar, why not book a flight to Armenia\’s capital next month?
